Gotham's darkness is about to intensify. Director Matt Reeves and actor Robert Pattinson return in "The Batman: Part II," the direct sequel to the acclaimed 2022 film, scheduled for release in 2027. The production is part of the DC Elseworlds label, separate from the new DC Cinematic Universe led by James Gunn.

Even outside the main DCU, The Batman: Part II is at the center of its own universe. The "The Penguin" series starring Colin Farrell and the Arkham Asylum project are pieces that will connect with the events of the second film, further expanding this darker and more realistic side of DC.

PREMISE:
While the first film explored a young, violent Batman still in the making, Part II promises a more mature Bruce Wayne, yet still struggling with his duality between justice and obsession. The dark, detective-noir style will be maintained, reinforcing the unique identity of this universe.
